Configure an NSX-T Data Center adapter for each NSX Manager cluster in the VMware Cloud Foundation instance to monitor the NSX-T Data Center network services deployed in the clusters in the VMware Cloud Foundation instance and to view the ESXi hosts in the NSX transport zones.

You can also access end-to-end logical network topologies between two virtual machines or NSX-T Data Center objects. You can isolate problems in the logical or physical network by using the physical host-network device relationship.

You configure NSX-T Data Center adapters for both the management and the VI workload domains NSX Manager clusters.

Note:

For an environment with NSX Federation, you configure an NSX-T Data Center adapter for each NSX Local Manager cluster.

UI Procedure

PowerShell Procedure

  1. Start Windows PowerShell.

  2. Replace the values in the sample code with values from your VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook and run the commands in the PowerShell console.

    $sddcManagerFqdn = "sfo-vcf01.sfo.rainpole.io"
    $sddcManagerUser = "administrator@vsphere.local"
    $sddcManagerPass = "VMw@re1!"

    $sddcDomainName = "sfo-m01"

    $collectorGroupName = "sfo-remote-collectors"
  3. Perform the configuration by running the command in the PowerShell console.

    Add-vROPSAdapterNsxt -server $sddcManagerFqdn -user $sddcManagerUser -pass $sddcManagerPass -domain $sddcDomainName -collectorGroupName $collectorGroupName
    Note:

The adapters are created but are not collecting metrics. To start collecting metrics, you must manually validate the connection to the NSX-T Data Center adapters in the vRealize Operations Manager user interface.

  4. Repeat this procedure for all VI workload domains.
