To manage virtual machine replication, protection and recovery, deploy the Site Recovery Manager virtual appliance in the protected and recovery VMware Cloud Foundation instances.
For the protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance procedure, use the VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook.
Procedure
- Log in to the management domain vCenter Server at https://<protected_vcenter_server_fqdn>/ui in the protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance as [email protected].
- In the Hosts and clusters inventory, expand the management domain vCenter Server tree and expand the management domain data center.
Deploy the Site Recovery Manager appliance.
Right-click the default management cluster and select Deploy OVF template.
On the Select an OVF template page, select Local file, click Upload files, select the following files from the bin folder of the .iso mount for Site Recovery Manager, click Open, and click Next.

On the Select a name and folder page, enter a name, select the previously created virtual machine folder, and click Next.
On the Select a compute resource page, select the default management cluster and click Next.
On the Review details page, click Next.
On the License agreements page, accept the license agreement and click Next.
On the Configuration page, select the 4 vCPU configuration and click Next.
On the Select storage page, select the management domain vSAN datastore and click Next.
On the Select networks page, select the management network and click Next.
On the Customize template page, configure the settings, configure the remaining settings according to your VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook, and click Next.

On the Ready to complete page, click Finish.
Right-click the Site Recovery Manager virtual machine and select
.Repeat this procedure to deploy the Site Recover Manager appliance in the recovery VMware Cloud Foundation instance by using the corresponding values in your VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook for the Recovery Instance.
