When the original protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance is back online, update the DNS record for the VMware Aria Operations for Logs cluster in the original protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance with the original IP address so that the running management applications in the original protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance can start sending log data to VMware Aria Operations for Logs.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the DNS server that resides in the recovery VMware Cloud Foundation instance by using a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connection.

  2. Open the Windows Start menu, enter dns, and press Enter.

    The DNS manager dialog box appears.

  3. In the DNS manager dialog box, under Forward lookup zones, select the DNS domain associated with the VMware Aria Operations for Logs cluster from the original protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance.

  4. On the right side, expand the tree and locate the VMware Aria Operations for Logs record.

  5. Double-click the VMware Aria Operations for Logs ILB record, change the IP address of the record back to the IP address of the VMware Aria Operations for Logs cluster in the original protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance, and click OK.
