After you fail over the management applications in the SDDC to the recovery VMware Cloud Foundation instance, you update the DNS record for VMware Aria Operations for Logs from the protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance to point to the VMware Aria Operations for Logs cluster in the recovery VMware Cloud Foundation instance. This ensures the failed over components continue to forward logs.
Procedure
Log in to the DNS server in the recovery VMware Cloud Foundation instance by using a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connection.
Open the Windows Start menu, enter dns, and press Enter.
The DNS manager dialog box appears.
In the DNS manager dialog box, under Forward lookup zones, select the DNS domain associated with the VMware Aria Operations for Logs cluster in the original protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance.
On the right side, expand the tree and locate the VMware Aria Operations for Logs record.
Double-click the VMware Aria Operations for Logs record, change the IP address of the record to match the IP of the VMware Aria Operations for Logs cluster in the recovery VMware Cloud Foundation instance, and click OK.
