As a Cloud Services Provider user, you can create new VMware Cloud Services subscriptions for your customers. You can also amend existing VMware Cloud Services subscriptions and renew subscriptions before they expire.

How can I use configurations to set up VMware Cloud Services subscriptions?

Configurations allow you to save certain subscription settings and reuse them to create the same subscription for multiple customers. You can save a configuration while you create a subscription.

When a subscription is created for a customer you can view it and its status in the Subscriptions > Subscriptions menu.

How do I create a VMware Cloud Services subscription for a customer

You create a VMware Cloud Services subscription for a selected customer. When creating the subscription, you can save the subscription settings in a configuration and reuse it in the creation of a new subscription later.

Prerequisites

You have the Provider Administrator or Provider Operations Administrator role in your organization.

Procedure

  1. On the VMware Cloud Partner Navigator toolbar, click Configurator.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select a VMware Cloud Services offering and click Create.
  3. On the Customer page of the configurator wizard, enter the customer details.
    1. From the drop-down menu, select a customer organization.
    2. If you have more than ony commit contract for the selected service, select which commit contract to use for this subscription.
    3. If required, enter the parent organization key, names and e-mail address.
  4. Complete the Base Offer page of the wizard.
    1. From the list of offers, select the desired base offer option.
    2. Enter a quantity, select the desired offer settings, and click Save.
      Depending on the selected base offer, some one-time add-ons may be added automatically.

      1. From the list of add-ons, select an offering.
      2. Enter a quantity, select the desired settings, and click Save.
      To proceed without an add-on...
      1. Click NO, I DON'T WANT ADD-ON.
    4. (Optional) To add another base offer to the configuration, click + BASE OFFER in the top-right corner, click Next, and repeat step 4.
    5. Click Next.
  5. (Optional) To export the configuration in XLSX format, click EXPORT.
  6. (Optional) Save the configuration for future use.
    1. Click Save Configuration.
    2. Enter a configuration name and click Save.
    Saved configurations appear in the Configurator menu.
  7. Review the subscription details and click Create.

Results

The VMware Cloud Services subscription is created for the selected customer. You can view its status in the Subscriptions > Subscriptions menu.

How do I create a subscription from a saved configuration

If you have saved a subscription configuration during creation, you can reuse the configuration to create the same subscription for a different customer. Alternatively, you can choose to modify the configuration before creating a subscription from it.

Prerequisites

You have the Provider Administrator or Provider Operations Administrator role in your organization.

Procedure

  1. On the VMware Cloud Partner Navigator toolbar, click Configurator.
  2. Scroll down until you see your saved configurations and click the one you want to create a new subscription from.
  3. From the drop-down menu, select a customer and click Next.
    You are redirected to the Review page of the configurator wizard.
  4. (Optional) Modify the configuration.
    1. Click Previous.
    2. Edit the current base offer or select a new base offer.
      Option Description
      To edit the current offer...
      1. Click the pencil (pencil icon) icon.
      2. Modify the quantity or base offer attributes.
      3. Click Save.
      4. Add an add-on or proceed without.
      To select a new offer...
      1. To delete the current base offer, click the trash (trash icon) icon and click Confirm.
      2. From the list of offers, select the desired base offer option.
      3. Enter a quantity, select the desired offer settings, and click Save.
      4. Add an add-on or proceed without.
    3. Click Next.
  5. (Optional) To overwrite any changes made to the configuration in the previous step, click Save Configuration.
    Important: You cannot save a new configuration when creating a subscription from a saved configuration. If you choose to save the configuration, the settings of the old configuration will be overwritten and potentially lost.
  6. Review the information and provide your consent by selecting the check box.
  7. Click Create Subscription.

How do I amend existing subscriptions

As a Provider Administrator or Provider Operations Administrator user, you can amend active subscriptions by upgrading their base offer, requesting additional quantity, or modifying their base offer settings. For guidance, refer to the table below.

Partially or fully upgrade a base offer
  1. On the VMware Cloud Partner Navigator, click Configurator.
  2. Enter a subscription ID and click Amend.
  3. In the Base Offer card, click the pencil icon (pencil icon), and click Upgrade.
  4. From the list of possible upgrade options, select one.
  5. Enter the quantity of units you want upgraded to the new offer, select the desired offer settings, and click Save.
    Note: If you are requesting a partial upgrade, a new base offer is created for the upgraded quantity of units. Some add-ons may be readjusted based on your selection.
  6. (Optional) To add add-ons to the upgraded base offer, click + ADD-ON, and select an add-on.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Review the updated subscription's details and click AMEND SUBSCRIPTION.

The subscription is upgraded with the new offer settings and attributes.

Request additional quantity or modify a base offer's settings
  1. On the VMware Cloud Partner Navigator, click Configurator.
  2. Enter a subscription ID and click Amend.
  3. In the Base Offer card, click the pencil icon (pencil icon), and click Edit.
  4. Enter the additional quantity of units you want to request, select the desired base offer settings, and click Save.
  5. (Optional) To add additional quantity of an add-on, lick thepencil icon (pencil icon), enter the additional quantity, and click Save.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Review the updated subscription's details and click AMEND SUBSCRIPTION.

The subscription is amended with the new attributes and settings.

How do I renew expiring subscriptions

As a Provider Administrator or Provider Operations Administrator user, you can renew subscriptions before they expire. When renewing a subscription you can choose to keep the current base offer of a subscription or select a new base offer for the subscription. You can also modify your renewal preferences for each subscription. For guidance, refer to the table below.

  1. On the VMware Cloud Partner Navigator, click Subscriptions > Subscriptions.
  2. Click the subscription that you want to renew and click Renew in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Renew the current offer and click Next.
  4. (Optional) To modify any of the base offer attributes for this renewal, click the pencil icon (pencil icon), make your changes, and click Save.
  5. (Optional) To add an add-on to this subscription renewal, click + ADD-ON, select an add-on, enter a quantity, select its attributes, and click Save .
  6. Click Next.
  7. Review the details of the renewal and click RENEW SUBSCRIPTION.

The subscription is renewed successfully. If you made any changes to the base offer attributes or add-ons, the changes are applied with the beginning of the next subscription term.

The renewal appears in the subscription's history. To view it, open the subscription's details page in the Subscriptions > Subscriptions menu.

  1. On the VMware Cloud Partner Navigator, click Subscriptions > Subscriptions.

  1. On the VMware Cloud Partner Navigator, click Subscriptions > Subscriptions.
  2. Click the subscription which you want to modify.
  3. Next to Renewal, click Change.
  4. Select a new renewal preference.
  5. Click Confirm.
