In VMware Cloud Partner Navigator, you can view and manage your VMware Cloud Services commit contracts. If you have signed more than one commit contract for a product in VMware Cloud Provider Commerce Portal, you get to choose which commit contract to use for each provider and customer provisioning. Subsequently created subscriptions are billed against the selected commit contract.

How do I sign a new commit contract for a product?

You sign new commit contracts for VMware Cloud Services product offerings in VMware Cloud Provider Commerce Portal. Once a commit contract becomes active, you can view details about it in the Subscriptions > Commit Contracts menu.

How do I select a commit contract for a service provisioning?

If you have more than one commit contract signed for a product family in VMware Cloud Provider Commerce Portal, you get to choose which commit contract to use for each service provisioning. Once a commit contract is selected, all subscriptions created from this provisioning will be billed against the selected contract.

There are two ways in which you can select which commit contract to use for a provisioning:

Table 1.
Option Steps
During the initial provisioning of a service See How do I enable a VMware Cloud service in a provider organization or How do I provision services for a customer organization.
After a service is already provisioned
  1. Navigate to the provider or customer organization that you want to manage.
  2. Click Services.
  3. In the card of one of the provisioned services, click MANAGE COMMIT CONTRACT.
  4. From the drop-down menu, select the commit contract you want to use for this provisioning and click CHANGE COMMIT CONTRACT.

The commit contract of this service provisioning is updated.

Subsequently created subscriptions will be associated and billed against the selected commit contract.

Previously created subscriptions remain associated with the commit contract which was selected at the time of their creation.

How do I change my default commit contract?

If you have more than one active commit contract for a service, you can change your default commit contract for that service. The default commit contract is pre-selected when provisioning a new instance of a service but you can still select a different contract. As such, the default commit contract acts as a recommendation whereas subscriptions are always associated with the commit contract selected upon provisioning.

Note: Having a default commit contract is essential for the smooth operation of all integrated systems. If you have more than one commit contract for a service, make sure your default commit contract is set before trying to provision a service.
  1. On the VMware Cloud Partner Navigator toolbar, click Subscriptions > Commit Contracts.
  2. Click the tile of the service you want to manage.
  3. On the commit contract you want to set as default, click the ellipsis-horizontal button and click CHANGE DEFAULT CONTRACT.
