For all monitoring and management functions related to your Usage Meter instances, refer to the following table. The Usage Meter resources that you can view and manage are restricted by your work group settings, if any.

View the status of all registered Usage Meter instances
  1. On the Commerce Portal toolbar, click Usage Meters.

The table displays all Usage Meter instances registered on contracts, their status, and additional information about them.

You can filter displayed instances by using the filter buttons located within the table's column headers.

Download Usage Meter information as CSV
  1. On the Commerce Portal toolbar, click Usage Meters.
  2. (Optional) To limit the downloaded Usage Meter data, apply filtering to the table.
  3. Click DOWNLOAD.

The Usage Meter data is downloaded as a CSV file in your browser. If you applied filtering to the table, only the filtered results are downloaded.

View details about a Usage Meter instance and its reporting health
  1. In the Usage Meters menu, click a Usage Meter name.

The details page displays additional information about the Usage Meter instance and its monthly reporting status for the last six months.

View the reporting events of a Usage Meter instance
  1. In the Usage Meters menu, click a Usage Meter name.
  2. Click Recent Events.

You can use the drop-down menu to display less reporting events or more.

Change the name of an instance, move it across sites, or switch its reporting mode from Test to Production
  1. In the Usage Meters menu, click the vertical-ellipsis icon (vertical-ellipsis icon) and click Edit.
  2. Enter a new name, select a different site, or change the mode.
  3. To confirm editing the instance, click OK.
Remove a Usage Meter instance from a contract
  1. In the Usage Meters menu, click the vertical-ellipsis icon (vertical-ellipsis icon) and click Remove.
  2. To confirm the operation, click YES.

The Usage Meter instance is no longer registered with the contract. Usage collected by the instance is no longer populated in that contract's MBOs.

Link a Usage Meter instance with a contract
  1. On the Commerce Portal toolbar, click Usage Meters
  2. Click + ADD.
  3. Enter the unique identifier of the Usage Meter instance that you want to register.

  4. Enter a name for the Usage Meter instance.
  5. To find the ID of an instance, log in to the on-premises Usage Meter appliance, navigate to About, and copy the UUID.

  6. Enter a contract number or hit ? to display all possible contract options.
  7. Select the mode of the instance.
  8. Click OK.

The Usage Meter instance is linked with the selected contract and appears in that contract's Usage Meters tab and in the Usage Meters menu.

If set to Production, the data collected by the instance is automatically populated in following MBO reports and made ready for submission.

Link an additional contract to be metered by a Usage Meter instance
  1. In the Usage Meters menu, click the vertical-ellipsis icon (vertical-ellipsis icon) and click Edit.
  2. Click +ADD and enter a contract ID.
  3. To confirm editing the instance, click OK.

Remove a Usage Meters instance linked with multiple contracts

  1. In the Usage Meters menu, click the vertical-ellipsis icon (vertical-ellipsis icon) and click Edit.
  2. In the right-most column of the table, click the cross icon to remove a contract from the list of linked contracts.
  3. To confirm editing the instance, click OK.
