The VMware Cloud Console displays an alert if clusters in your SDDCs have a default storage policy that is not in compliance.

Keeping cluster storage policies in compliance is a best practice. A non-complaint storage policy could have a negative impact on SLA requirements.

You can correct this issue by updating your clusters to use a VMware managed storage policy, which keeps the default storage policy in compliance as the SLA scales. Or you can edit the cluster to apply a custom storage policy that complies with the SLA requirements. For more information about managed storage policies and the SLA requirements, see VMware Cloud on AWS Managed Storage Policy Profiles.

Procedure

  1. Select the cluster to update.
    1. Click the SDDC card.
    2. On the card for the cluster you want to update, select Actions > Set Default Storage Policy
  2. Update the storage policy.
    • Click Update to Managed Storage Policy to update the cluster to the managed storage policy.
    • Click connect to vCenter Server to manually update the policy.
