vSphere DRS ensures optimal resource allocation across the VMs in your SDDC. In an on-premises environment, you can configure several options, for example, you can use fully automated DRS or decide to receive recommendations. In a VMware Cloud on AWS SDDC, VMware has preconfigured the vSphere DRS options for the cluster of hosts.
VMware has selected settings that ensure optimal resource distribution while minimizing the number of migrations that occur, and to prevent migrations of management components, including the NSX Edge, for load balancing . While you cannot change those selections, viewing them can help you understand how DRS is applied in your SDDC.
- In the vSphere Client, click Menu and select Hosts and Clusters.
- Select Cluster-1.
In VMware Cloud on AWS, Cluster-1 holds configuration settings for all SDDC clusters.
- Examine the DRS settings, which fully automate resource allocation across the cluster.
For more information about DRS, see About vSphere Resource Management in the VMware vSphere Documentation.
