As a customer, if the VMware service expires or you want to exit the service, be aware that you are responsible for removing the content from your system. However, VMware cooperates with you to delete or return all your content as provided in the customer agreement.
If VMware must retain some or all the personal data as applicable by law, VMware archives the data. In this case, VMware implements appropriate measures to prevent your data from further processing.
As a customer, if you exit the VMware service before you return the hardware, VMware runs a procedure to ensure that all data on the hardware is inaccessible. VMware and Dell decommissions and recycles the hardware by following the industry best practices.
