How do I register a vCloud Usage Meter instance for automatic reporting

You can set up automatic reporting by registering your vCloud Usage Meter instances within VMware Cloud Services Console.

Prerequisites

• Verify that you have an active Okta account as a Cloud Services Provider.
• Verify that you have the Usage Administrator role assigned as an add-on role.
• Verify the vCloud Usage Meter instance is not part of any other organization. You can only register one vCloud Usage Meter instance to one organization at a time.

Procedure

1. On the VMware Cloud Services Console toolbar, navigate to Billing & Subscriptions > Usage Management > Usage Meters.
   You see a table with all registered vCloud Usage Meter instances.
2. Click Register Usage Meter.
   A Register Usage Meter window appears with automatically populated organization ID.
3. Enter the details of the vCloud Usage Meter instance.
   1. Enter the instance ID.
   2. Enter a name for the instance.
   3. Select a usage billing mode.

      Usage Billing Mode	Description
      Production	The usage reported by the instance counts towards your monthly billing order for the contract.
      Test	The usage reported by the instance does not count towards your monthly billing order for the contract.

4. To add the instance, click Register.

Results

The vCloud Usage Meter instance appears in the list of instances.
