If you log in to the Data Management for VMware Tanzu User Console as an Organization Administrator or Organization User, you can view the following:

  • Databases (Databases) and their backups owned by users of the organization
  • Environment that is available to the users of the organization for the creation of databases.

Additionally, you can navigate to Organization in the left pane and view:

  • All the users in the organization
  • Settings of the organization
  • Tags created in the organization

The Organization view has three tabs:

  • Users
  • Details
  • Tags

Users Tab

The Users tab provides the following information about different users of the organization in different rows:

  • First Name of the user
  • Last Name of the user
  • Email Id of the user
  • Roles of the user
  • Type of the user

Details Tab

The Details tab provides the following information about the organization:

  • Organization Information that includes Name, Email ID, VM Configuration Mode, Type, and DB FQDN Suffix of the organization
  • LDAP Integration that includes LDAP Server Status, Admin Groups, and User Groups of the organization

Tags Tab

As an Organization Administrator or an Organization User you can create Tags and assign them to databases and thereby enable the logical grouping of databases. You can view the details of the tags that are created in an Organization if you navigate to the Tags tab of the Organization view.

The Tags tab provides the following information about different tags of the organization in different rows of a table:

  • Tag Name column provides name of the tag
  • Assigned Database Instance(s) column provides the number of databases assigned to the tag.
  • Last Modified By column provides the email ID of the Organization Administrator or Organization User that modified the tag most recently.
  • Last Modified On column provides the time and date on which the tag was most recently modified.
  • Actions column provides three dots that enable you to rename or delete the tag.

Note:

  • Name of a tag can range from 1 through 255 characters.
  • Tag names are not case sensitive.
  • Tag names must be unique.

Creating a Tag

To create a tag, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Organization in the left navigation pane of the console.

    The Organization view opens in the Users tab.

  2. Click the Tags tab in the Organization view.

  3. Click the CREATE TAG button located in the upper right-hand corner of the view.

    This action displays the Create New Tag form.

  4. In the Create New Tag form, enter the name of the tag in the Tag field, and then click CREATE.

Data Management for VMware Tanzu displays the message Tag created successfully. after a tag is created.

Modifying a Tag

To modify a Tag, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Tags tab in the Organization view of the Organization pane.

  2. Identify the tag that you want to modify, click the three dots in the Actions column of that tag, and then click Rename.

    This action displays the Rename Tag form.

  3. In the Rename Tag form, enter the new name of the tag in the Tag field, and then click RENAME.

    Data Management for VMware Tanzu displays the message Tag renamed successfully. after a tag is renamed.

Deleting a Tag

To delete a tag, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Tags tab in the Organization view of the Organization pane.

  2. Identify the tag that you want to delete, click the three dots in the Actions column of that tag, and then click Delete.

    This action displays the Delete Tag dialog box that prompts you to confirm if you want to delete the tag and also notifies you if the tag is associated to any database.

    Note: If you delete a tag that is assigned to databases, the tags are removed from those databases.

  3. In the Delete Tag form, click DELETE to confirm that you want to delete the tag.

    Data Management for VMware Tanzu displays the message Tag deleted successfully. after a tag is deleted.
