Data Management for VMware Tanzu enables you to export information about the databases in the CSV and XLSX file format. You can perform various operations, comparisons, and analysis on the exported data to facilitate decisions, for example, average CPU consumption of databases can help you decide VM requirements for databases.
The following information is exported in the CSV or XSLX file format, as required:
- Database Name that represents the name of the database
- Namespace that represents the Namespace that is associated with the database
- DB Engine that represents the engine of the database
- DB Version that represents the version of the database
- Role that represents the role of the database, either Primary, Stand Alone, Monitor, or Replica
- Status that represents the status of the database
- CPU (core) that represents the CPU consumption of the database
- Memory (GB) that represents the memory consumption of the database
- Storage (GB) that represents the storage consumption of the database
- Created Date (UTC) that represents the date of creation of the database in UTC
- User that represents the owner of the database
Information about all the databases that is visible to a particular user, Provider Administrator, Organization Administrator, or Organization User, is exported irrespective of the Filters applied and the number of databases listed on a page.
Procedure
Perform the following steps to export information about the databases in the CSV and XLSX file format:
In the Databases view of the Databases pane, click the three horizontal dots beside the CREATE DB button, and then select Export to CSV or Export to XLSX.
The information about all the databases is exported in either CSV or XLSX file format, as selected.
Open the exported file, convert the content of the Date column to a custom format (if you have downloaded a CSV file and opened it in an XLSX application), and then save it for further use and analysis.
