VMware Data Services Manager supports multiple deployment models. Choose the model that best meets the needs of your organization.
Small Footprint Deployment
If you are evaluating the product, the simplest deployment model is a small footprint deployment of VMware Data Services Manager. In such a deployment, a single Provider VM and Agent VM are installed in the same vSphere cluster or VMC cluster and use a common, shared datastore.
Production Deployment
You may choose to deploy the Provider VM in High Availability mode in a production installation of VMware Data Services Manager. In HA mode, you deploy multiple Provider VMs to ensure the availability and durability of the VMware Data Services Manager installation.
