You are required to perform certain tasks before you can onboard the Agent VM with VMware Data Services Manager.
Step 1: Satisfy the Prerequisites
Step 2: Reset your VMware Data Services Manager console password
The procedures in this topic are performed by a VMware Data Services Manager user in the Organization Administrator role.
Ensure that:
The Agent VM is deployed and has booted properly.
If DNS is not able to resolve the vCenter IP Address of the Agent appliance, then the Agent VM /etc/hosts
file requires an entry as follows:
<Tenant Appliance vCenter-IP> company_vc.vsphere.local
You can identify the VMware Data Services Manager URL (i.e. the Provider VM IP address).
You have the Organization Administrator login credentials (Local or LDAP) for the VMware Data Services Manager console.
Also ensure that you are on a host that can access the Provider VM.
As an Organization User, if you are not using an LDAP identity source, the Provider Administrator can create a VMware Data Services Manager Local user account for you and set a default password for this account. You must log in to the VMware Data Services Manager console, reset your password, and then log in again with your new credentials before you can onboard the Agent VM.
Open a browser window and enter the VMware Data Services Manager URL.
Enter your Email ID and Password and click LOGIN.
The Change Password dialog displays.
Enter your current password, choose and a new password, and enter it twice to confirm.
Click CHANGE PASSWORD.
If you successfully changed the password, a notice displays, and you are returned to the VMware Data Services Manager login screen.
Log in with your new password.
You may remain logged in to VMware Data Services Manager, but the information viewable by you, and the operations available to you, will be limited. You can also choose to log out.
Onboard the Agent with VMware Data Services Manager.
