VMware Data Services Manager allows you to update Database Networks and the Management Network. You can add one or more Database Networks and change the default Database Network that is attached to the onboarded Agent, when required. You can also change the Management Network that is attached to the onboarded Agent, when required. However, you can only remove a Database Network or Management Network from an environment if none of the databases provisioned with that environment are using that network.

Note: While you update the Database Networks or the Management Network, in-flight database operations use the existing configured networks. After the process of updating Database Networks and the Management Network is completed, databases that are subsequently created use the newly configured networks.

Audience

These procedures are typically performed by an Organization Administrator or Provider Administrator.

Prerequisites

  • Before you remove an Database Network or change a Management Network that is configured, ensure that you delete the databases that are provisioned using these networks.
  • Before you change a Management Network, ensure that the Agent VM can access the new Management Network that will be configured.
