There can be requirement to change the IP address or certificate of the DSM plugin VM. In such cases, you need to unregister and then re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin.
Also, there can be a situation where the VMware Data Services Manager plugin is removed from vSphere due to some reason. In such cases, you can re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin.
If there is a change in the IP address or certificate of the VMware Data Services Manager plugin VM, use the following steps to unregister and re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin:
SSH into the DSM plugin VM.
Run the following commands to unregister the VMware Data Services Manager plugin:
sh /opt/vmware/tdm-provider/plugin/plugin_utility.sh unregisterPlugin
Run the following commands to re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin:
sh /opt/vmware/tdm-provider/plugin/plugin_utility.sh registerPlugin
If the VMware Data Services Manager plugin gets removed from vSphere due to some reason, use the following steps to re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin:
SSH into the DSM Plugin VM.
Run the following commands to re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin:
