After you create a database in VMware Data Services Manager, you can change its basic information. You can activate directory service authentication or change a DNS name.

Prerequisites

If you want to activate directory service authentication for the database, make sure to configure the directory service. For information, see Configuring a Directory Service in VMware Data Services Manager.

Procedure

  1. Select Databases from the left navigation pane.
    This action displays the Databases view, a table that lists the provisioned database VMs.
  2. Examine the databases listed in the table, and navigate to the database to update.
  3. Click the database Instance Name.
    The database information Summary tab displays.
  4. In the Basic Information pane, click EDIT, and specify the following in the Edit Basic Information dialog box.
    Option Description
    Enable Directory Service Authentication To enable or disable directory service authentication for the database, switch the Enable Directory Service Authentication toggle.
    DNS Names Enter comma separated FQDNs. The DNS names are used in the Subject Alternative Name (SAN) fields of the TLS certificate.
  5. Click SAVE to apply your changes.
