To establish a secure TLS (SSL) connection to VMware Data Services Manager Provider VM, you need to add its certificate authority (CA) to your list of trusted CAs.

If you use a custom certificate, the CA is already present in the custom certificate secret. See Configure a Custom Certificate for VMware Data Services Manager Provider VM.

To get the CA managed by VMware Data Services Manager and store it in the trust store, follow these steps.

Procedure

  1. As a vSphere administrator, connect to the Provider Appliance VM using the remote web console.
  2. To get the CA managed by DSM, run the following command:
    cat /opt/vmware/tdm-provider/cert/provider-ca-cert.pem
  3. Use the CA to establish a secure connection to the Provider VM.
You can add the CA to your OS or browser trust store and reopen the DSM console.
