Starting with VMware Data Services Manager version 2.1, the PostgreSQL database owners can provide custom administrator user password or change the current one.

You can change the password at any time when the database is online. Only database owners can perform this operation.

Procedure

  1. Select Databases from the left navigation pane.
This action displays the Databases view, a table that lists the provisioned databases.
  2. Examine the databases listed in the table, and navigate to the database for which you need to change the password.
  3. Click ACTIONS, and select Change Admin Password from the menu.
    Change database administrator password.
  4. Provide the new password and apply the change.

Results

The cluster status transitions to InProgress. After its status changes back to Ready, the new password becomes effective.
