You can use VMware Dynamic Environment Manager to configure startup and shutdown tasks, which allows end-user machines to run other tasks during startup and shutdown. Before you configure VMware Dynamic Environment Manager, you must perform certain Windows configurations.

If you want to use startup and shutdown tasks, use the Windows Local Group Policy Editor to navigate to the appropriate node and configure the required settings as described in the following table.
Important: The following settings must be configured in local Group Policy.
Node Setting
Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Scripts Disable the Run startup scripts asynchronously policy setting.
Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Scripts (Startup/Shutdown)

Configure the Startup and Shutdown scripts by specifying the following property values.

Option Setting
Script Name Enter C:\Program Files\Immidio\Flex Profiles\FlexEngine.exe for both scripts.
Script Parameters
  • Enter -StartupTasks for the Startup script.
  • Enter -ShutdownTasks for the Shutdown script.
