The reference designs will include infrastructure, storage, and networking details, recommendations for running Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, and discuss failover scenarios and integrations with other VMware products. The focus will be on the data center and single-node, 2-node, and 3-node clusters.

The reference designs will include guidelines and best practices for Enterprise Edge deployments. Given production environments vary greatly between enterprises and they all have unique challenges, the reference designs aim to provide infrastructure and Tanzu Kubernetes recommendations for edge deployments and discuss failover scenarios and applicable product integrations. The purpose is to provide a blueprint to ensure successful deployments of Enterprise Edges and reinforce administrators with best practices. The overall goals include:

  • Deliver infrastructure, storage, and networking details for the data center and each of the edge types.

  • Outline the requirements and recommendations to run Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) on Enterprise Edge.

  • Discuss the various failover scenarios regarding host servers, networking, and TKG workload clusters.

  • Provide inputs and design considerations for integrations with other VMware products.

The reference designs will refer to the following topology where they will zoom in on the data center and the single-node, 2-node, and 3-node clusters.
