Once an Edge host has made a connection to the Edge Compute Stack service, and has been configured with its site and git repository information, it can be seen as inactive and awaiting activation. The host then remains inactive until it is manually activated.
Procedure
- Open the VMware Edge Compute Stack Service.
- Click Configure/Hosts.
- Select a Inactive host from the grid.
- Click Activate.
Results
The host now moves to an activating status and receives its git configuration and labels. After the host has received this information, it is shown as Active in the grid and is configured at the Edge location based on the desired state files you have specified.
