Creating the USB Drive Boot Media

VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator currently supports builds from USB drives and ISO files. This section details how to create a bootable USB drive used to install VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator. VMware recommends a USB 3.0 drive for the VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator service to achieve best performance, but slower deployments still succeeds with older USB drives.

The ESXi basic image and Kubernetes cluster is automatically deployed and run from the USB boot media. The following steps help you create a bootable VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator media from your development machine. This USB drive is used to build your VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator host.
