Add a Serial Port

You can add a serial port to your virtual machine.

Prerequisites

Shut down or power off the virtual machine. You cannot change the setting while the virtual machine is powered on or suspended.

Procedure

1. Select Window > Virtual Machine Library.
2. Select a virtual machine in the Virtual Machine Library window and click Settings.
3. Click Add Device.
4. Click Serial Port.
5. Click Add.
6. Browse to the location to save the output file of the virtual serial port.
7. Type a name for the file in the Save As field.
8. Click Save.
