Pausing a virtual machine stops the current state of a virtual machine. When you resume a paused virtual machine, the state of the virtual machine is exactly the same as when you paused it.

Note: The current state of the virtual machine is not saved when you pause a virtual machine. If you quit Fusion while a virtual machine is paused, Fusion suspends or shuts down the virtual machine depending on your Fusion preferences.

Procedure

  • ♦ Click Virtual Machine > Pause.

Resume the virtual machine when you are ready to work with it again.
