You must meet certain prerequisites and collect specific information from your existing VMware vSphere environment in order to proceed with the installation of VMware Greenplum. You may need to work with your system and network administrator to gather some of the information.
You must have access to VMware vSphere Client through a VMware vSphere administrator level user that belongs to the Administrators group. In this documentation we use [email protected]

You must have access to the Internet to download the HCIBench 2.6.0 OVA file for validating Dell EMC VxRail setup performance and a Greenplum Virtual Appliance OVA file for deploying the Greenplum Virtual Appliance.
Collect the following information from your VMware vSphere environment, you will need it during the installation and setup stages.
Request the following from your network administrator, you will need it during installation. See Setting Up vSphere Network for more detailed information.

. The number of IP addresses per set must be your number of calculated segment hosts plus one for the Greenplum Virtual Appliance virtual machine. For example, for a four-host setup, you will need two sets of 67 IP addresses each: 66 for Greenplum and one for the appliance.You are now ready to start with the installation and configuration of VMware Greenplum on vSphere.
