The Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) helps to improve HCX products and services, to identify and fix problems, and to develop best practices and procedures for deploying and using HCX.

For sites activated locally, participation in the CEIP is provided by default. With CEIP, HCX periodically collects technical information about your organization's use of HCX and its services and provides that information to VMware. This information does not personally identify any individual.

For HCX sites participating in CEIP, perimeter firewalls must allow connections to vcsa.vmware.com. See Network Port and Protocol Requirements.

You can choose to leave the program at any time by selecting an option in HCX Manager interface. For more information, see Leave or Join the HCX Customer Experience Improvement Program.
Important: Leaving the CEIP disables all analytics based programs including the HCX WAN Optimization (WAN-OPT) service. WAN Optimization provides data reduction, compression and line conditioning. Using this service requires participation in the CEIP.

Connected mode sites do not have any option to opt in or out of CEIP. Connected mode sites require a connection to VMware, and that connection is used to collect telemetry information by default. Air-Gap sites do not participate in CEIP. Air-gap sites never transmit information to VMware. For more information, see Activating New HCX Systems.
