VMware HCX delivers secure and seamless application mobility and infrastructure hybridity across both on-premises and in the cloud. HCX abstracts the distinct private or public vSphere resources and presents a Service Mesh as an end-to-end entity. HCX Interconnect can then provide high-performance, secure, and optimized multi-site connectivity to achieve infrastructure hybridity and present multiple options for bi-directional virtual machine mobility with technologies that facilitate the modernization of legacy data centers.

Upgrade Considerations
- Upgrading to HCX 4.3.2 is supported only from HCX 4.0.x or later.
- HCX 4.0.0 is the oldest version suitable for upgrade. Customers running older releases are required to upgrade to HCX 4.0.x first before upgrading to HCX 4.3.2.
- HCX 4.3.2 is the recommended version for all upgrades to 4.3 from other minor versions (HCX 4.0, 4.1, 4.2).
- Assistance with upgrading from out-of-support releases is on a best-effort basis.
- VMware sends administrative messages to HCX systems that are running out of support and require upgrade.

What's New in this Release
VMware HCX 4.3.2 is a maintenance release that provides security updates, fixes for known issues, license support updates, and newly available product maximum information.
License Support for NSX Data Center SP Enterprise Plus
With this release, HCX Service can now use NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus or NSX Data Center SP Enterprise Plus licenses for activation. Either license enables HCX Advanced services, which deliver basic connectivity and mobility features to enable interconnect and migration services between sites. There is no dependency on the version of HCX Connector or Cloud Manager being activated. For HCX Enterprise services, additional licensing is required. See VMware HCX Services.
Updated Product Maximums
We have added the following entries:
- Concurrent Bulk Migrations (single Service Mesh): 200
- Concurrent Bulk Migrations Per Manager (multiple Service Mesh): 250
- Maximum Delta Transfer and Maximum Parallel Replications based on Service Mesh bandwidth at 100 Mbps, 200 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps.

Improvements in the PowerCLI 12.5 Module for HCX
The PowerCLI 12.5 release resolves issues with the GET-HCXVM and GET-HCXReplication cmdlets. For more information about this release, please see the VMware PowerCLI 12.5 Release Notes.

Resolved Issues
Resolved Migration Issues
- PR/2931090 – HCX encounters an error while powering off the virtual machine during the Bulk migration switchover phase due to delayed guest shutdown which coincides with power off operation and the migration fails.
Resolved Interconnect Issues
- PR/2920093 – Service Mesh creation can fail if the HCX Connector version is 4.3.0 and the HCX Cloud Manager is running a lower version.
Resolved Automation Issues
- PR/2924691 – API calls to get HCX appliance usage statistics fail with an internal server (500) error.
Security Issues
This release includes important security updates and enhancements.
Deprecation Notices
Deprecated features receive no further development or code fixes, and will be removed in a future release. The following is a summary list of deprecated features in HCX 4.x releases:
- HCX Site Recovery Manager Integration – In HCX 4.3, SRM Integration is no longer functional due to the database conversion to PostgreSQL. Existing deployments using the feature must disable it before upgrading. For the initial deprecation notification, see the HCX 4.0.2 Release Note.
