You can create a manual desktop pool for Linux virtual machines.
Procedure
- In View Administrator, add a manual desktop pool.
Select

- Select Manual Desktop Pool.
- On the User assignment page, select either dedicated or floating user assignments for the machines in the desktop pool and click Next.
- On the Machine Source page, select vCenter virtual machinesand click Next.
- On the vCenter Server page, select the appropriate vCenter server and click Next.
- Enter the desktop pool id.
- On the Desktop Pool Settings page, set the following options.

Note: The pool settings are mandatory. Else, you might fail to connect to the desktop and get a protocol error or a black screen.
- On the Add vCenter Virtual Machines page, select the linux virtual machine. Click Add and click Next.
Note: Do not create Windows and Linux virtual machines in the same desktop pool.
- Follow the prompts to complete the procedure.
Entitle users to the machines in the desktop pool. In View Administrator, select the desktop pool, select Entitlements > Add entitlement, and add users or groups.
Results
The Linux virtual machines are ready to be used as remote desktops in a
Horizon 7 deployment.
