To install a ThinApp application on a remote desktop, you use Horizon Administrator to assign the ThinApp application to a machine or desktop pool.
When you assign a ThinApp application to a machine, Horizon Administrator begins installing the application on the virtual machine a few minutes later. When you assign a ThinApp application to a desktop pool, Horizon Administrator begins installing the application the first time a user logs in to a remote desktop in the pool.
Horizon Administrator installs a shortcut to the ThinApp application on the remote desktop. The shortcut points to the ThinApp application on the network share that hosts the repository. Users must have access to the network share to run streamed ThinApp applications.
Horizon Administrator installs the full ThinApp application on the local file system.
The amount of time it takes to install a ThinApp application depends on the size of the application.
You can assign ThinApp applications to virtual machine-based desktops and automated desktop pools or manual pools that contains vCenter Server virtual machines. You cannot assign ThinApp applications to published desktops or traditional PCs.
