You can perform several actions on the assignable images listed on the Administration Console's Images page.

Procedure

  1. Select Inventory > Images.
  2. Click the image's name.

The screen displays information about the image along with buttons for the actions you can perform on the image.

For example, this screen is the information for an RDS-enabled assignable image named WinSvr2016. This image belongs to a node named East-Coast-Stores and is referenced by two RDSH farms.

    Button

    Description

    Rename

Even though you see the Rename action in the page, this action is not used for images in a Microsoft Azure environment.

    Delete

    Permanently deletes the selected image.

    Note:

An image cannot be deleted if it is in use by an RDSH farm or a desktop assignment.

    Duplicate

Even though you see this action in the UI, this action is not used for images in a Microsoft Azure environment.

    Publish

For RDS images used in farms, republishes an updated image to make it assignable again. This action is not available if the image already is an assignable image.

Use this action when this image is one that was converted into an assignable image using the New Image workflow, and then it was subsequently updated. When an assignable image is subsequently updated, use the Publish action to turn the updated image into an assignable image again.

To perform one of the other available actions, click ... and select the drop-down option of your choice.

For RDS images that are not yet used in a farm, you can use this action to enable updating the RDS base image instead of the Take Offline action.

    Assign Image
