Move an application package |
You can move packages from one application to another. When similar Package requirements across Applications exist, you can use the move functionality. When you move a package that has assignments, the corresponding assignments are also updated to reflect the moved application package.
Note:
-
When you move a package, the realization of the package for desktop attachments might take up to 30 minutes. Therefore, users might not receive the application on their desktops until the package is realized on the pod.
-
In a single assignment, a package is supported for one application only. When you move a package from one application to another application within the same assignment, a collision occurs and the moved package does not attach.
If the package you want to move has the CURRENT marker set, unset the marker before you move the package. See information that follows about removing a marker from an app package.
-
Select .
-
Select the destination application from the drop-down list.
-
Click Save. The following results might occur depending on if the moved application had assignments or not, if the application had a marker or not, and if the move was successful or not.
-
On the same page, the source application page, a success message appears at the top of the page.
-
On the destination application page, the moved application package appears. Also, if the package had one or more assignments, a message appears about the move succeeding or failing. If the move succeeds, another message appears about the assignment updating successfully. If the move fails, the message advises you what to do next.
-
If the package had one or more assignments, the assignment page of each impacted assignment displays the moved application package under the new application name.
