Tour of the Tool Interface

You can use the tabs at the top of the window to move between the main areas of the Windows OS Optimization Tool for VMware Horizon user interface.

Name	Functionality
Optimize	Analyzes the current state of Windows using a template and then applies the selected optimizations.See Optimize Image.
Generalize	Runs Windows system preparation (sysprep) See Generalize Image.
Finalize	Runs system clean-up tasks to get the virtual machine (VM) ready for Horizon. See Finalize Image.
Update	Runs a Windows update on a previously optimized image. See Update Image.
History	Displays optimization history and rolls back VMs to a pre-optimized state. See View Optimization History and Rollback Optimizations.
Templates	Enables you to edit buit-in templates to create custom templates. See Working with Templates.
Help	Displays online help.
