Introduction to Published Desktops and Applications

With Horizon 8, you can create published desktops associated with a farm, which is a group of Windows Remote Desktop Services (RDS) hosts. You can also deliver a published application to many users by creating application pools. The published applications in application pools run on a farm of RDS hosts. With the addition of App Volumes, you can have applications delivered dynamically using published applications on demand to help reduce the number of OS images and RDS Farms.
