You can monitor the active users who are concurrently connected to VMware Horizon by navigating to Horizon Console > Settings > Product Licensing and Usage > Usage. The Usage Settings panel displays the current and highest historical usage numbers. You can use these numbers to keep track of your perpetual or term license usage. If you are using a SaaS subscription license, go to the Horizon Control Plane to see your licensing and usage details as they may differ from what you see in the Horizon Console. When the usage numbers differ, the Horizon Control Plane has the correct metrics.

If you have a concurrent connected users license, you can look at the Total Concurrent Connections row on the Usage Settings panel. The Current column on the Usage Settings panel shows active users who are concurrently connected to Horizon 8. The Highest column on the Usage Settings panel displays the highest number of concurrent desktop sessions and published desktop and application users since your pod was first configured or since you last reset the highest count.

If you have a named users license, you can look at the Total Named Users row. The Current column on the Usage Settings panel shows active users who are concurrently connected to Horizon 8. The Highest column is not applicable to named users and therefore is not populated. There are additional useful session metrics in the Usage panel. Keep in mind that these do not factor into license counting.

Note that the Total Concurrent Connections row is populated even if you have a named user license. Similarly, the Current column for Total Named Users is populated even if you have a concurrent users license.
