Synchronization of Horizon 7, Horizon 6, or View resources to VMware Identity Manager is either unsuccessful or very slow.

You are unable to synchronize Horizon 7, Horizon 6, or View resources with VMware Identity Manager. Either the synchronization is very slow or the process is unsuccessful and an error such as the following appears.

Failed to complete View sync due to a problem with the View Connection Server: Unable authenticate to View broker, problem with directory

Failed to complete View sync due to a problem with the View Connection Server: Unable to query any broker in the pod for pool and entitlement information. Check connectivity with the View pod

This problem occurs if the /etc/krb5.conf file does not contain the correct domain information.

  1. Edit the domain_krb.properties file to add the domains used by View and VMware Identity Manager.

  2. Edit the krb5.conf file and update the realms section with the same domain-to-host values used in the domain_krb.properties file.

Important:

If you set up multiple VMware Identity Manager appliances to form a cluster, after you join a cloned appliance to the domain, you must update the krb5.conf file again with the domain information.
