VMware Identity Manager Cloud Deployment (with Linux Connector) provides information about the deployment scenarios available for using the VMware Identity Manager™ cloud service. It also provides information about installing and configuring the Linux-based VMware Identity Manager Connector virtual appliance in outbound-only connection mode. Additionally, it explains how to integrate your enterprise directory and sync users and groups to the VMware Identity Manager service.
Beginning with the April 2019 cloud release, the Linux-based VMware Identity Manager connector is no longer available. For information about configuring your cloud deployment with the Windows-based connector, see VMware Identity Manager Cloud Deployment. Migration from the Linux connector to the Windows connector is also available.
The information is written for experienced Windows and Linux system administrators who are familiar with VMware technologies, particularly vCenter™, ESX™, and vSphere®, and with networking concepts, Active Directory, and databases.
Knowledge of other technologies, such as RSA Adaptive Authentication, RSA SecurID, and RADIUS is also helpful if you plan to implement those features.
