You can configure the Slack messaging application with the VMware Proctor application to receive help requests from users. You must configure a webhook to post messages from the VMware Proctor application to the Slack application.

Prerequisites

Enable the Enable Slack Integration and Slack Integration URL settings in the VMware Lab Platform administrator user interface. For more information on the Slack settings, see Working with Settings.

Procedure

  1. To configure a webhook, enter the URL https://api.slack.com.
  2. Log in with your credentials.
  3. Create an application.
  4. On the Slack API page, navigate to Features > Incoming Webhooks.
  5. Create a webhook.
  6. Add your message application channel to the webhook.
  7. Add the webhook in your tenant configurations.

Results

The help requests raised in the VMware Proctor application are relayed in the client Slack channel.
