Use the following guidelines when you plan configuration limits for your lab template in VMware Lab Platform.

Calculate the cloud capacity consumption using the allocated resources, and not the utilized resources. For example, if you allocate a 100-Gbyte disk to a virtual machine, but the disk contains 50-Gbyte of data, then the 100-Gbyte of storage is consumed from the storage allocation.

  • Avoid over-sizing workloads intended to be used for labs. Idle virtual CPUs, unused memory, and free disk space is consumed from the capacity allocation, incurring extra costs.

  • Maintain a good housekeeping of a lab template and templates within the virtual data center.

Note:

For trial users, the trial capacity is limited to 25 virtual CPUs | 50-Gbyte RAM | 2500-Gbyte storage unless otherwise noted in your on boarding session. This allows you to deploy the configurations described in the following table.

Note:

A lab template that is powered on, consumes compute (CPU and memory) and storage resources from the cloud allocation, whereas when powered off, a lab template only consumes storage resources.
