Add a name for a vApp in VMware Lab Platform

The Deployment Pool List includes the vApp Naming Template option and this is similar to the Prepop Naming Template option.

The system uses the vApp Naming Template option to generate a name for an assigned vApp (either an assigned prepopulated template or an on-demand deployment). It specifies the fixed text (outside the square brackets) and the variable names (inside the square brackets) from which the system generates the name by replacing the variables with their current values.

To view the prepop naming template:

1. Navigate to Cloud Management > Deployment Pools.

2. Click the three ellipses on top of the table, and click vApp Naming Template.

3. To change the prepop naming template, click vApp Naming Template.
