Cleanup fails if attempted within 10 minutes after restarting the recovery site ESXi hosts.

Problem

When you attempt a cleanup whitin 10 minutes after restarting the recovery site ESXi hosts from maintenance mode, the cleanup operation fails.

Cause

The cleanup operation attempts to swap placeholders and relies on the host resilience cache which has a 10 minute refresh period. If you attempt a swap operation on ESXi hosts that were restarted within the 10 minute window, VMware Live Site Recovery does not update the information in the VMware Live Site Recovery host resiliency cache, and the swap operation fails. The cleanup operation also fails.

Solution

Wait for 10 minutes and attempt cleanup again.
