You can add storage volumes to the Mirage system.

About this task

When you add a new volume,Mirage verifies the specified path, that the volume is empty, and that the volume supports alternative data streams.

Prerequisites

Verify that the following conditions are met:

  • The user account that manages the Mirage system has access permissions to the new volume.

  • The volume has sufficient privileges for the Mirage Management server and the Mirage cluster to access the required volume.

  • The server service accesses the volume using the user credentials. In a CIFS (clustered) environment, the volume must be shared and accessible to all Mirage servers.

Procedure

  1. In the Mirage Management console tree, expand the System Configuration node, right-click Volumes and select Add a Volume.

    Type the name of the storage volume.

    Path

    Type the server UNC path of the volume where the volume resides.

    Description

    Type a description of the storage volume.

    The volume path must contain only ASCII characters.

  2. Click OK.
