Modern applications are no longer monoliths but constitute many micro services. Users need more control over their applications including how they are deployed, how frequently they are accessed and who has access to parts of the applications.

NSX Advanced Load Balancer provides Role Based Access Control (RBAC) to provide granular access to control, manage and monitor applications within NSX Advanced Load Balancer. A scenario where the application owners can change frequently requires the control to be passed between different users.

NSX Advanced Load Balancer already provides such an isolation via tenants and roles. Prior to the NSX Advanced Load Balancer version 20.1.2, access control was granted over types of objects (for example, user 1 has write access for all objects of type virtual service, pool, etc.) but not over individual objects of a given type like having only read access on object db-service-app of type virtual service.
