This section covers the specific configuration for the SIP health monitor type.

For SIP applications, the server health is monitored using the SIP request code and response. Currently, only SIP options are supported for the request code. The monitor greps for the configured response string in the response payload. If a valid response is not received from the server within the configured timeout, then the server status is marked down.

To create a new SIP health monitor, click Create button. Select the SIP option from the drop-down list of the Type field. The following screen is displayed:

You can specify the following details related to SIP settings:

  • SIP Request Code — Select the SIP request code to be sent to the server from the drop-down list. By default, a SIP options request will be sent.

  • SIP Monitor Transport — Select the SIP monitor transport protocol from the drop-down list, to be used for the SIP health monitor. The following are the options in the drop-down list:

    • UDP

    • TCP

    The default transport is UDP.

  • SIP Response — Match for a keyword in the first 2KB of the server header and body response. By default, it matches SIP/2.0.
