There is no upper limit for ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) rate setting on NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller and NSX Advanced Load Balancer Service Engines. Rate limit for ARP setting controls the maximum number of ARP packets processed by NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller and Service Engines.
All devices in the network receive every broadcast ARP packet in the layer 2 network, including NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller and SEs. The number of ARP packets in the network is directly proportional to the size of the Layer 2 network. There are no disadvantages in increasing ARP limit on NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller and SEs to match the ARP rate in the network.
