This section describes the steps to manage static and DHCP IP Address
Managing Static IP Address
The following are the steps to configure IP address pools for networks hosting NSX Advanced Load Balancer SEs and (optionally) VIPs:
Navigate to
.Choose a Cloud from the Select Cloud drop-down menu.
Search and edit the required Network object.
Deselect DHCP Enabled check box under IP Address Management.
Click + Add Subnet button to add an IP address network.
Specify the IP Subnet to grant the IPs.
Click + Add Static IP Address Pool button.
Either a single pool or a dedicated pool of IPs will be used for both VIPs and NSX Advanced Load Balancer SEs.
To use a single pool of IPs, you can select Use Static IP Address for VIPs and SE check box and specify the range of IPs from the configured IP subnet.
To use a dedicated pool of IPs for the NSX Advanced Load Balancer Service Engines, you can deselect Use Static IP Address for VIPs and SE check box.
Select Use for Service Engines to specify the range of IPs from the configured IP subnet used for the NSX Advanced Load Balancer SEs.
(Optional) Repeat step 5 to add more subnets to the Network object.
Click Save to complete configuring the Network object.
Managing DHCP IP Address
The following are the steps to use DHCP on networks hosting NSX Advanced Load Balancer SEs and (optionally) VIPs:
Navigate to
.Choose a Cloud from the Select Cloud drop-down menu.
Search and edit the required Network object.
Select DHCP Enabled check box under IP Address Management.
Click Save to complete configuring the Network object.
