Deploying the NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller OVA

This task explains how to deploy the NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller OVA.

Use the client to deploy NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller OVA file by following the steps mentioned below:

Prerequisites

Log into the vCenter server through a vCenter client.

Procedure

1. Follow the Deploy OVA Template wizard instructions. For more information, see Deploy an OVF or OVA Template.
   1. Choose Thick Provision Lazy Zeroed for disk format.

      While deploying Service Engine, the Controller does not consider or evaluate vSphere storage policy.

   2. Choose a port group for Destination Networks in Network Mapping.

      This port group will be used by the NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller to communicate with vCenter.

   3. Specify the management IP address and default gateway. In the case of DHCP, leave this field empty.
   4. Leave the Sysadmin login authentication key field blank.
2. Power on the VM.
3. Repeat these steps to deploy three NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller VMs to create a Controller cluster set-up.

What to do next

After you install the OVA and before you power the Controllers on, edit the hardware resources and change the CPU, memory and disk to the minimum recommended values for production. For more details, see NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller Sizing.
