Rollback

If the NSX Migration for VMware Cloud Director tool fails, the user can perform an automated rollback. The user is required to perform a manual rollback if the vApp migration fails at partial migration.

Operations Performed during the Rollback

The following operations were performed during the rollback process:

  • Migration of vApps and VMs from the NSX-T Data Center organization VDC to the NSX Data Center for vSphere organization VDC.
  • Enable/disable the NSX Data Center for vSphere organization VDC.
  • Delete the distributed firewall rules from the NSX-T Data Center groups.
  • Delete the firewall rules from the target Edge gateway(s).
  • Delete the firewall groups from the NSX-T Data Center groups.
  • Disable the distributed firewall in the NSX-T Data Center groups.
  • Decrease the scope of the NSX-T Data Center organization VDC network(s).
  • Decrease the scope of the NSX-T Data Center Edge gateway(s).
  • Remove the load balancer configuration from the NSX-T Data Center Edge gateways
  • Disable the promiscuous mode and forged transmits on the source NSX Data Center for vSphere organization VDC network(s)
  • Clear the NSX-T Data Center layer 2 bridging.
  • Delete the logical segments created for Organization VDC imported network.
  • Delete the NSX-T Data Center organization VDC networks.
  • Delete the NSX-T Data Center edge gateway.
  • Enable/disable the affinity rules.
  • Delete NSX-T Data Center organization VDC.
  • Remove the allocated IPs from the target external network added during migration.
  • Configure the DHCP services on the source edge gateway(s).
  • Configure the IPSEC services on the source edge gateway(s).
  • Reconnect the source edge gateway with the external network(s).
  • Disconnect the dummy-uplink from the source edge gateway(s).
  • Delete migration metadata from the source NSX Data Center for vSphere organization VDC.
