Unsupported Features and Edge Gateway Services
The NSX Migration for VMware Cloud Director tool currently does not support some features and edge gateway services.
Unsupported Networking Features
- Routed vApp networks
- If the target Org VDC routed vApp network is not connected to overlay-backed (Geneve) Org VDC networks
- vApp Fencing
- VDC Group networks backed by NSX Data Center for vSphere
- Distributed firewall rule with service groups and any of the following objects as source/ destination:
- Organization VDCs
- Security group:
- MAC sets in include members
- Any object in Exclude members
- VM Guest OS Name in Dynamic Member Sets
- Match Any in Dynamic Member Sets
- More than four rules in a single membership criterion in Dynamic Member Sets and operator in membership criteria in Dynamic Member Sets
- Security Tag criteria with Similar to in Dynamic Member Sets
- VM Name criteria with Ends with, Similar to in Dynamic Member Sets
- Port group backed network pool without VLAN
- Service Direct Network (more than one organization VDCs have an organization VDC network directly connected to an external network)
Unsupported Organization VDC Edge Gateway Features
- Edge gateway firewall is in the disabled state
- Firewall rule with any of the following as source/target in the organization VDC of NSX Data Center for vSphere:
- Security groups
- Internal
- Gateway interfaces
- Virtual Machine
- One to many DNAT rules
- OSPF dynamic routing
- External static routes where next hop is from external networks IP space routed via Tier-0/VRF
- IPSEC route-based VPN
- DNAT rules configured on networks participating in IPSec VPN (For the NSX-T version lower than 4.x)
- SSL VPN
- L2 VPN
- IPv6 in NAT
- DHCP Relay on Non-Distributed networks
- Load balancer
- application rules
- custom health monitor
- application profile not configured on a virtual server
- VIP IP address conflicts with a Gateway IP or another VM IP
- transparent and non-transparent pools on the same edge gateway
- VIP of virtual server overlapping with DNAT, SNAT rules, or IPsec sites while the transparent mode is enabled
- pool member IP overlapping a DNAT rule while the transparent mode is enabled
- pool members using different ports while the transparent mode is enabled
- IPv6 in pool members and virtual server while the transparent mode is enabled
- subnet should not exceed /28 for
LoadBalancerServiceNetwork
while the transparent mode is enabled
- Negated Gateway firewall rule
Unsupported Organization VDC Features
- Suspended VMs
- Migration of catalog media attached to a VM
- Non-Latin characters in
- dedicated direct/imported network name
- both VM placement and VM sizing policy
